When the canvas came alive with John Fernandes works…










He immortalised women in his frozen frames, in his works of art that he so artistically created on the canvas. And when fate snatched away the life of artist John Fernandes, his wife Agnes Fernandes ensured that he came alive in his works

Hence, on Dec 5, at Hirji Gallery, at the first floor of Jehangir Art Gallery, Kala Ghoda, Agnes Fernandes celebrated the inauguration of an unforgettable immortal artist John Fernandes' works.

Among the celebrities who graced the event were curator Bharat Patel, singer Madhushree, music dir Robby Badal, actor Kapil Sharma, DJ Vipin, Nisha Jamwal, artists Daxa Khandwala, Gautam Patole, Rupali Madan, Prithvi Soni, Venkatesh Dornal, and glitterati of the likes of Joanne and Vinod Nair, Ashwini Kakkad, Malti Jain, Renu Patel among others graced the occasion.

"John Fernandes is one of the great Indian artists who has through his canvas, brought amazing sensuality of Indian women. His water colours are unparallel. The artist who is no more with us but has left everlastiing memory through his works," said Bharat Patel of Art Desh the Studio.

"John Fernandes is considered to be one of the finest realistic painters not in India but also the world over. He created sensuous women without undressing them that was the essence of his strokes," added Gautam Patole.
